Pairing Champagne and Food - Webinar

Champagne is mostly known as a celebratory wine served to mark special occasions, but it is also a very food-friendly wine. Sommeliers and chefs love working together to pair champagne with main courses, even spicy Indian dishes! But… not all types of champagnes pair well with all types of foods. You wouldn’t want to serve a bone dry champagne with sweet wedding cake for example. It would leave a very bitter taste in your mouth.

Please join us for a festive and comprehensive webinar led by Cynthia Coutu, a fellow Canadian, founder of Delectabulles and certified champagne educator and guide.

The webinar starts with a short introduction to explain why champagne is such a food-friendly wine, then dives deep into the factors that influence the taste profile (and cost) of a champagne (e.g. grape varieties, terroirs, vessels, reserve wine, etc.). Cynthia will finish the webinar by sharing some recommendations of great champagne and food pairings to try.

This webinar will give you the tools to explore what type of champagne you prefer and why, and how to get the best bang for your buck next time you order or buy a bottle of champagne. 

You don’t have to pop open a bottle of champagne to benefit from the webinar, but it will make the session more interactive, and certainly cheer you up! If you do decide to pour yourself a glass of bubbly during our session, Cynthia has selected a delicious and very reasonably priced champagne made by a woman that has received many awards and is served at the restaurant of the National Assembly. You can also join the webinar with a champagne that you already have at home. Upon registration you will receive the zoom link and a list of optional foods you could try with your champagne during the session.

Duration:  1.5 - 2 hours
