The Canadian Women’s Group (CWGP) in Paris was founded in 1978 with a view to develop friendships and solidarity between Canadian women living in Paris, to promote Canada’s dual culture and to assist newcomers to adapt to life in France.
More than 150 members participate in activities that take place from October to June.
In addition to monthly meetings at the Canadian Cultural Center, members have a choice of regular activities ranging from guided visits to Paris’ great exhibitions and monuments, book and bridge clubs, outings to the theater, concerts and operas, networking evenings for working professionals, to brisk walks in Paris. Something for everyone.
Well attended special events are also held throughout the year : the Christmas cocktail, la Galette des Rois in January, an artists’ exhibition and the fundraising evening to benefit L’Arche, a non-profit organization founded by Jean Vanier for mentally disabled adults. Family and friends may join us for some of these events.
An monthly newsletter lets members know what’s coming up.
Just arrived in France or have been living here for a while? In either case, the Canadian Women’s Group in Paris (CWGP) is here for you.
