How did you first connect with the ACP ?

My first event with ACP was the Visite guidée: Paris Cachée - Nouvelle Athènes last February. As a dancer I was really curious about the cabarets, and not just the Moulin Rouge.

What do you do in everyday life ?

I do communications in the arts & culture sector. Anything from copywriting, to running campaigns, to interviewing artists and writing critical reviews. Right now I'm just freelancing but keeping my eye out for opportunities in Paris.

Can you share a memorable moment or activity that you had with the ACP (or on any other occasion since you joined/have moved to Paris) ?

I participated in the Paris Expat Canadian Meetup: Canada Day Pub Quiz back in July. Despite competing in probably dozens of pub quizzes over the years, this was the first (and maybe last) time I was ever on a winning team!

My favourite place in France or in Canada

I'm from the Maritimes, and I lived in Vancouver for 9 years, so I'm partial to the coast. So far in France I've only been to Deauville on a rainy weekend so I'm overdue for a beach day. Hoping to get to the south of France in 2026!

My passion(s) and / or my hidden talent(s)?

I love dance, theatre, literature, travel, dogs and good food, particularly dessert. My hidden talent is being able to spend hours lost in a good book without moving or noticing time pass.

What I learned in life / the most memorable lesson life has taught you ?

Maybe that life doesn't go in a straight line--there are always surprises. Lately I've been trying to live in the moment and enjoy what I have instead of comparing my life to others' or to what I thought it would be.

My favourite bar/restaurant in France and in Canada ?

One of my favourite restaurants in Vancouver is L'Abattoir. Raph and I had our wedding reception there in 2021, and this picture is from when we celebrated our anniversary there in 2024. I'm not sure if I've found my favourite place in Paris yet, but have really enjoyed Brasserie Rosie, Café Caillou, Bistrot du Passage and of course The Moose for a poutine fix.

My favourite ACP activity and why ?

l 've really enjoyed events where I get to meet a lot of people, like the apéro rentrée, and the Paris Cachée walks, where I can learn more about the city and all the amazing places I haven't been yet.

Anything you'd like to share with our community?

I'll be back in Canada for most of November & December, but I look forward to seeing everyone at more events in the new year
