Hello ACP members, and happy rentrée to you all!,
IAs summer comes to an end and the air grows, thankfully, a little cooler, I am very excited to be writing my first Word from the President, alongside the new and returning members of our Executive Committee and Board of Directors.
First, a quick introduction to the 2026–2027 Executive Committee. My name is Freshia, and I am originally from Calgary, Alberta. I recently moved to Paris and am very excited to be taking on this new role with the ACP.
Joining me is our Vice President, Frances Liang, originally from Vancouver, BC, who many of you may already know as the longtime organizer of the Paris Expats Canadian Meetup group! We are also joined by our Secretary, Kristen Lawson, from Halifax, Nova Scotia, who is also new to the City of Lights and oversees our social media. And last but certainly not least, our wonderful Treasurer, Vanessa Rodriguez, who is originally from Fontainebleau.
I am so excited to have such a dynamic group of people, with such diverse backgrounds and perspectives, on our team. We hope to bring this same diversity and energy to our conversations with you and continue building this incredible community.
And we’ve already started strong! We kicked off our fall season with a wonderful first ACP brunch at Bar à Bulles, tucked away on the beautiful terrace of the Moulin Rouge.
We also had the pleasure to see so many of you at our Fête de la Rentrée at the Canadian Cultural Centre at the Canadian Embassy! The evening kicked off with a fascinating guided tour of photographer Robert Burley’s exhibition, Great Lakes: The Shared Horizon of Inland Seas, followed by a lively reception hosted by the Canadian Cultural Centre. We are so grateful to everyone who joined us, and a special thank you to Her Excellency Nathalie Drouin, Ambassador of Canada to France, for honouring us with her presence.
And there are plenty more events to come! Stay tuned for more information about our October happenings, including another ACP brunch on Saturday Oct. 17th at La Rhodia in the Musée Bourdelle, a Thanksgiving dinner at the Moose, and, of course, a fun and spooky Halloween celebration!
IWe are also thrilled to be organizing a private guided visit at the Musée du quai Branly on Saturday, Oct. 24th for their exposition First Nations : Arts and Culture of the Northwest Coast of North America. More details to come!
Finally, a little reminder: annual memberships for the 2025–2026 membership year will expire on Saturday, October 31, 2026. You can renew your membership early to continue enjoying all the benefits of being an ACP member, including access to our exclusive events and partner offers.
