Dear members,
I hope you all have a little extra spring in your step with the official arrival of spring and are enjoying this stretch of balmy weather.
A new “voice” this month for the mot de la présidente, because Annabelle is preparing for a big new adventure – she’s moving back to Canada in May. We’ll certainly miss her and her vibrant energy. We’re extremely grateful for everything she has brought to the association over the past few years as VP, présidente intérim, and brunch organizer extraordinaire. She’ll be hosting one final brunch this month, so it’s definitely not to be missed! As the president of the Board of Directors of the association, I’ll be stepping in from now until the end of the year.
There are a few other wonderful opportunities to get together this month: an exceptional concert by the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris featuring the music of Bach and Beethoven, as well as a special “Paris Cachée” tour I’ll be leading to some of the best hidden gems in the 20th arrondissement.
I’d also like to highlight the many ways members can get involved in the association. As usual, we’ll be voting for and electing members of the executive committee during our Annual General Meeting in June. We’re also looking for activity coordinators for the brunch, soirée réseau or another activity that you’re passionate about and would like to share with other members (theatre, walking, books, etc).
While serving on the executive committee requires a bit more time (though it’s an incredibly rewarding experience), coordinating an activity is quite simple and usually takes about 10–30 minutes of preparation, plus attending the event itself (or arranging for someone to step in if needed).
Activities can be every other month (or even once for a special activity), and you can also team up with someone, which makes it even easier. It’s a great way to help build our community while enjoying everything Paris has to offer.
The official call for candidates for the executive office will go out in May. In the meantime, please feel free to reach out to me directly if you have any questions!
