A look back at the 2021 Galette des Reines et des Rois

Summary of this memorable event.

On January 26th, the traditional Galette des Reines et des Rois was held, a virtual event in this period of pandemic, during which the Official Residence invited itself to the homes of the sixty or so participants.

On the theme of "Diversity and Inclusion", one of the themes best shared by Canadians, the programme began with a speech by Ms. Isabelle Hudon, Canada's Ambassador to France and Monaco, who warmly welcomed her guests and wished them all the best for 2021.

Then, a virtual tour was conducted under the guidance of Mrs. Delphine Morant, Director of the Official Residence, and Chef Jérôme Trayssac, Chef de cuisine, who has been working for 25 years in the kitchens of the Embassy's Official Residence. What could be more prestigious than tasting a meal prepared by Chef Trayssac (Bellevue salmon, authentic tourtière with its salad and of course, a slice of galette for dessert) while he shows you around his "kingdom"!  Many participants in the Galette des Reines et des Rois 2021 had this chance!

After this virtual guided tour, Mrs Christine Durand, President of the ACP, presented the vision of the ACP for 2021. She thus reaffirmed the ACP's commitment to be present for its members despite the pandemic and to continue to offer them activities that meet their expectations. The President also took the opportunity to present upcoming activities, including the newcomers welcome day.

The last part of this already very rich virtual session was devoted to interactive networking over a drink or a meal prepared at the Official Residence. Participants had the opportunity to network and learn more about some of them through a fun question and answer session.

A great activity to do again, in virtual or face-to-face mode!
